Student Illness/Emergency

Children must be kept home from school if they exhibit symptoms such as fever, vomiting, or other contagious indicators. If a child shows signs of illness or infection while at school, the school will notify the parents. Parents should pickup their child as soon as possible.

Parents must notify the school if they or their child contract a communicable disease such as chicken pox, hepatitis, measles, etc. The school will notify parents if their child is exposed to a communicable disease at school.

Students may not self-administer medications at school. Medication must be stored in the school office with specific directions for administering. Whenever possible, we strongly recommend parents and physicians schedule medications so students do not have to medicate during the school day.

In case of emergency, we will attempt to contact the parents of the child. If a parent cannot be reached, we will proceed to call the names listed as emergency contacts on the child’s information sheet. We will always contact emergency medical personnel first, if the nature of the emergency warrants immediate medical care.
