LUNCH: Students may bring their own nutritious, ready-to-eat lunches in insulated lunch containers with a frozen ice pack. Our lunchroom has microwaves available to reheat items, if necessary. Students may also bring a healthy drink in their lunch. NO SODA, please. We offer a catered hot lunch every Tuesday and Thursday for a nominal fee. Hot lunch forms are sent home monthly. STUDENT STORE: Cumorah Academy has a student store located in the lunchroom that is operated by CAPA and volunteer parents. The student store provides simple lunch items (hot pockets, corn dogs, cup of noodles, mac ‘n cheese, etc.), healthy snacks, and drinks. Students may bring money to purchase their lunch or a snack. Parents may also pre-pay on an account for their child at the student store. BIRTHDAYS & SPECIAL OCCASIONS: Student birthdays and other special occasions may be recognized and honored. Treats from home may be shared with the student’s class. Birthday invitations may be passed out in class if the entire class is invited. If not, they will need to be mailed from your home. The birthday student is privileged to a “free dress day” on their birthday. MONTHLY NEWSLETTER: Our newsletter is sent home with your student each month. This newsletter contains valuable information including upcoming events and special dates and holidays. CALENDAR: Cumorah Academy generally follows a traditional nine month school year. We observe similar holidays and breaks, but not necessarily all of the same holidays. Please refer to our monthly newsletter for the current dates. SCHOOL HOURS: Cumorah Academy Office Hours: 8:00am—4:30pm Jr. Kindergarten: 8:30am—11:30am and 12:00pm-3:00pm Kindergarten - 8th Grade: 8:30am-3:00pm Homework Club: 3:15pm-4:30pm SCHOOL COLORS: Cumorah Academy school colors are RED, YELLOW and BLUE. Each color has an important value that is taught through our curriculum. SCHOOL LOGO: The three interlocking rings of our logo symbolize the relationship we try to strengthen between the SCHOOL, the PARENT, and the STUDENT. The three work together to create a strong successful team effort. The teachers deserve the respect and support of parents. The parents deserve the respect and cooperation of the teacher. When this occurs, a solid foundation of mutual trust is developed and the child benefits in all ways.
