Cumorah Academy, as it is known today, began as a dream and vision of Melissa VanBlankenstein, a young mother with several small children, who desired a quality educational program for her children structured with a wholesome environment. After searching for the right school program for her children, she determined it did not exist. The dream and vision began to unfold in 1970 when Melissa started teaching in her home. Since the beginning she has promoted, "Academic Excellence in a Wholesome Environment". Her commitment to high standards in education and early childhood development have also allowed her to expand her vision to the field of Child Care Consulting. The dream has grown to the Las Vegas valley. In 2006, Melissa and her daughter, Karena Fisher, partnered to form Cumorah Academy of Las Vegas. The values and standards that have been in place since the beginning are still the foundation of our school today.
